20061020 update
Original sender: Eric----
I got calls last night and this morning from Hope at the small animal hospital.
JJ’s surgery went well and they were able to remove the vacuum bandage, debrade the wound, install a drain and close the wound.
The pressure bandage seems to have helped and the edema is much reduced. JJ was walking much better this morning and seemed pleased not to be attached to the vacuum. They did insert an intra-nasal/esophageal feeding tube and have him on a slow constant meal. He has not vomited or shown other ill effects of the feeding. He has started licking and may have earned an E-collar.
The plan is to do another blood chemistry tomorrow and see how everything is coming together. If I get internet access and cell phone reception over the weekend (I’m judging in the boonies) I’ll send an update.
Thanks so much for all your thoughts and well wishes.
